This year we’re going to doing a double bill as part of our Fringe offering. We’re going to be putting on Georgia Smith’s Fool’s Errand, which we first produced at last year’s One Act Play Festival. Fool’s Errand follows a thief whose simple break-in takes a spectacular turn when he discovers that the homeowner is actually a witch. Suddenly, making off with the loot becomes far trickier; especially with a sharp-tongued talking cat and a mischievous, magical house standing in his way.
We are now looking for a companion piece to go with this. Some things to consider:
The play should ideally have a running time of around one hour.
We’re looking for something that will have commercial appeal. This could be a well known play, playwright or a reworking of a famous story.
Ideally there would be some link to Fool’s Errand. This might be in terms of theme, setting, or a story element but this is not essential
The set would need to be fairly simple to work as part of a double bill
We perform at the Royal Scots Club, and technical facilities are limited
